Time for some historical inaccuracy! Social Science is sponsoring a little art project/contest to celebrate Vincent Minor’s ‘Born in the Wrong Era’ ep release. Please submit your creation to submissions@thewrongera.com. We’ll put it up as long it doesn’t offend our grandmas
If you love Obi, please vote for their video on MTV U, and help get it into rotation at all the universities.

You can vote as many times as you like, so feel free to block out full days of your life this week to to sit at your computer and help put Obi on the map. Actually, go out and live life to the fullest, but if your roommate’s hogging the bathroom and you need to kill some time, please pop in and throw a few votes Obi’s way. Voting closes this Friday May 15th, 5 pm (PST). Thanks friends!
Have a look-see at the Grand Prize Winner of our video contest. The competitive was stiff, but out of 20 videos, this is the one that captured our hearts the most. Charming, funny, creative, ethnically diverse, and thoroughly engaging…it had about a million and one things going for it. For the record, we think the little girl deserves an Oscar, or at least a giant mug of non-alcoholic beer and some popcorn!
Congratulations Nathan Morse (director) and Maray, Joycie and Danny (the actors)!
Finalists officially announced!
In case you were wondering, Social Science & Obi Best sponsored a video contest for the song “Swedish Boy” which Obi’s own Alex Lilly explains in the video below.
Well the contest closed on February 15th, 2009 and the results are in!
There was a lot of amazing, inventive (and hilarious!) filmmaking in the 20 entries we received, so if you haven’t already, please check out the other videos.
But after some spirited discussion among the Social Science & Obi Best crews we whittled it down to five finalists. Here are our favorites, highlighted in pink. $500 prize winner to be announced next week. Congratulations and thank you to finalists and EVERYONE for their creativity and hard work!
Sincerely,
Obi Best + Social Science…
